from the Kaedings
Christmas Eve - and everyone here is still going 100 miles per hour! Hopefully, by this afternoon, we will be able to settle back and celebrate the birthday of our Lord! Obviously, our cards and letters are going to reach you all late, since Im just now writing a letter that I should have done over the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Jan works today at her job in the fabric store, so she will even be late for dinner tonight. Between keeping the household together, working and crafting, Jan has really been on the go this year.
Nicole is on her break from high school. She went to Epcot Center just before the holidays with the school American Music Theater to sing and carol for the crowds. At school, she has worked with the yearbook staff and did some really neat underwater photography of the swim team.
Joy is in her second year of college and still wants to be a teacher. She has, in fact, been doing some teaching already. She is teaching the violin to a boy up in Palm Coast. She is still living at home and helps out lots around here. Joy also works with the Sunday school and with the church preschool.
April. Well, you know, all she did this year was get married!!! Actually, it took her nearly two years!. But, her and Dwight did a great job, planned a wonderful ceremony and treated all of their guest like royalty. We all enjoyed ourselves and they are now settled down over in Orlando after a honeymoon in Jamaica.
Jessy, Mark, Jordan and Casey are preparing for their first Christmas in their new home. Mark still goes to school nights and is doing really well at his job. Jessy is also doing great at her job where she claims to be the person who is in charge of the people who are in charge. Casey is an energetic 5 year old, loves school and likes to go fishing with dad and grandpa. Jordan is a master at convincing us that he should have anything he wants. Hes a serious, thinking little guy who already knows what he wants.
Bennie and his family, Mia, Amber and Gayla, have moved into a house in Daytona. He stays super busy with work and the family. Hes just recently been promoted at work and is doing well there.
Another big change this year was the addition of a large boat (or a little ship). Jan and I have spent many a weekend and holiday on it cruising one of Floridas never-ending waterways. All of the kids have pitched in at one time or another to help us launch it, help us reload it, crew for us or move the trailer around. We let them come out for a ride once in awhile too. On the 26th, Jan and I are starting a boat trip down to the Florida Keys. We wont be back until January 5, 1998. Were looking forward to it - should be fun.
